fuel air mixture gadget....

Hi fellow GS people.... please could anyone tell me how to get hold of a small electronic type chip which wires into the loom and tricks the bike into thinking its a little colder outside in order to richen up the mixture a tad....?? I have put a Remus end pipe on and its popping and farting far too much for comfort.... A friend of mine told me I can get hold of one of these on this site....? for around £10..... he is a motorcycle engineer..... Many thanks, Joolsy G

Have a look on www.sol2.be, for 35E you get a nicley made in-line chip which make things much more interesting !!

That's great, thanks very much....! Please can you tell me, do you have one..?? They have offered me one at 35 euro OR an extended one with a longer lead to position the sensor.
They tell me either one will work but have not got back to me which is best....? Longer lead one is 45 euro.... Thanks, J

the 35E one is fine

The standard one ( 35E) is fine, really easy to fit, and I cannot see the advantage in bu@@ering about with a remote air temp probe TBH. The delivery is pretty rapid, as is the bike !! You will be pleased with your new machine !!

poss oil leaks...?

Hi all, I have just upgraded to a 2011 GS 1200 dohc.... great... only had it a week and done 500 miles, noticed slight traces of oil film on lower left side and around cylinder head area.... maybe cam chain ..?? any ideas...? I'm off to Europe on 2000 mile jaunt so just wanna make sure etc.... bike has done 20K but is mint.. many thanks, J

engine whistle when cold... GS 1200 dohc

Hi all..... just wondered if anyone has experienced a high pitched whistle from the front of the engine audible especially when cold.... seems to quieten somewhat when machine is fully warm.... Its a 2011 GS dohc, done 2K now and I'm pretty sure it was not like that when I bought it 3 weeks ago otherwise I would have questioned it.. Any thoughts..?? it just pee's me off a little each time I fire up from cold and its defo not getting any better.... almost feels like some kind of fan belt tho I have been told by a certified engineer its the primary gears...?? bought it under warranty etc.... many thanks, Joolsy

Think fuel pump makes a high pitched whistle. May have been better starting a new thread with a new question is it may get overlooked.
