Fuel and neutral light failer after small off???

Hi,had a small off a few weeks ago,lost the front on a roundabout

Slide to the side of the road with me still hanging on to the bike,stood the bike up no visible damage apart from scuffed cylinder head etc.

Went to start her up and no neutral light but the gear indicator was working fine,then got down to about 200 miles and no fuel light came on either(as it would do normally)

Its not the bulbs but I don't know where the neutral light switch is or how to test the fuel light circuit.

Any Ideas

Hi Ming,I dont think so I pulled the bulb holders out and checked the bulbs and they all seem fine.

Unless there is a connector block behind the clocks?

Steptoe is your man really .

But all these symtoms appeared together (I assume)

The common factor here is the loom so that is where I would start to look .

pull all the block connectors apart and look for corrosion This is quite often green in colour on the pins .

bit of wd40 or contact cleaner and see where that gets you

Certainly wont do any harm as long as you are careful to pull the connectors apart not the wires

Thanks ming,tried that this eve with no luck.

slipped the tank back and checked and sprayed all the connections(some of which were quite green) but still no luck

Will have another peek tomorrow and see what I can find.

Green pins are not good.You will need more than WD40 to shift that.
Clean them CAREFULLY with a scraper or wet and dry,then smear with petroleum jelly (Vaseline) liberally.Reassemble and test.

Check your fuses

I know one of them controls the whole RID incl fuel etc but don't know if it also does neutral light. At least you and the bike are ok
