I'm looking for ideas of where to store a fuel can for a petrol stove, where do you store yours?

Had a litre ally drinking bottle bracketted inside my pannier rail for a while, then I realised I was being silly and just took four foot of silicone tubing in my tool bag to syphon out of the tank when needed....

Who needs a seperate can when you have a 32 litre supply on the bike :D

we have and MSR stove and 2 off the 750ml bottles which we carry around in the panniers or the tank bag.

No problmes in 3 years yet

I mounted my fuel-filter externally (1150) - so I used longer fuel-hoses with QD's placed where I could easily get at them.

So as Fanum says - use fuel from the tank!

Got a 1L fuel bottle which i use as a spare can if there is any chance i may run out in the day. (fuel level marginal, running late etc etc). Also have a Givi top box. Bought some of that self adhesive velcro stuff, one side in the bottom of the Givi the other round the bottle. Stops it crashing around when the top box is empty:thumb Otherwise just chuck the bottle in there with the rest of the stuff. About 6 years use so far and no problems.

I have an MSR and was thinking of mounting the bottle externally on the front of a pannier...

Till I realised that I would have effectively strapped a ready made molotov cocktail to my bike

So mine lives in a pannier whilst riding

Not for cooker fuel, 2 litre emergancy in case of no petrol stations :D never needed it myslef but it's been needed by others on a few occasions.

Fuel Cans

Hello All
Made a frame to hold a two ltr petrol can, and fitted one on each side of the bike pannier racks on the inside along with two water bottles. So I had 2 x 2ltr (Spare for the bike and for cooking) and 2 x 0.75 ltr of water. Enough for 4 cups off tea  , dinner and breakfast.
Before you ask :augie, I fitted a stubby pipe. Andvantages is that the fuel and water stays on the bike when you remove the panniers. So if you go out for a bit off green laning you still got you supplies! :rob

Only 32 lit :augie

I'm another who uses fuel from the tank, but I don't like the taste of petrol so I carry a 30cm length of fuel line with a QD on one side. Connect that to the balance pipe between the tank lobes and drain into your fuel bottle. This has also come in handy when others have run out of fuel - but that's a different story...
