Fuel cap o-ring

is the o-ring in the fuel cap meant to fit snug in the recess? I’ve taken mine off and I’m not sure if the wrong o ring that has been fitted previously but it definitely doesn’t fit!

Seems to be in good nick with no cracks etc.

24hrs in the airing cupboard will shrink it back to size, but make sure that you refit it in a short time as it swells in the presence of fuel vapour and you’ll be back to square one within 5 mins.
