Fuel Consumption increased after service

Just back from 2.5k miles to Monaco and back, never got anywhere near 50+ but never near to 29 either!!

Bike seemed to run sweeter at altitude up the Cols and always needed fuel at around 200 miles. Initially was using same amount of fuel as the accompanying K1300GT but strangely by the end of the trip I was using around 15% less (or he was using more)

I reckoned on around 10 miles /litre, loaded and using the throttle well.
Cruising at just under a ton seemed to give good range but interestingly driving real close to an artic to make the 20km to the services with only 7 miles to empty showing pushed up the average a little!!:P

No idea how you guys achieve mid 50's:confused:

no way you can anywhere close to 50mpg at that kind of speed. I ride progressively mainly on A and B roads and regularly get mid to low 50's. the screen set up and and correct engine tune make a big difference. Cruising on motoways at anything over 75 will bring down consumption dramatically. its easy to see by resetting your average fuel button and doing a couple of miles at different constant speeds on some long flat straights.

There have been quite a few that have been out on the left side so that blows that theory out of the water!

:D:D;)

Feck me.........................you spend nearly £15k on a bike and then are worried about 3-4 mpg....................ever thought of a F800GS if you wanted better economy:blast

Nope, if you read all threads you'll see I'm still happy with the economy, just curious as to the reason it's dropped :thumb I'm not someone who buys things based on economy tbh, as shown by my car that averages 17mpg :blast
Emailed my dealer, they can't understand but have offered to have the bike back in to check the injection balance :nenau

Wish I had such s button! My 2005 is lacking that particular feature, shame as I am anal enough to monitor all that sort of stuff:drool
