OK, so I've been reading a couple of threads, and I'm getting a bit crazy! :eek

Since I bought the bike, I've had to fill up the tank every 200km. :(

internet conversion tells me that my fuel economy is:

9.5 l/100km
29.7 Imp MPG
10.5 km/l
24.7 US MPG

I see numbers on this forum of up to 50 MPG

I did only fairly short trips up till now... never more than 60km since I bought the bike, and usually around 20.

But still.... I've tried changing from 95 to 98, but that doesn't make a difference.

I like accellerating and braking heavily, but ... is there like a valve adjustment to be done here??? :nenau

Splat not sure whats happening to yours.

For the first time in over 12 years of owning GS bikes I worked out my fuel consumption.

On a full to the very top tank of 95 I got 42.8 mpg, that was 35.5 litrs to 334 miles. The mileage was a mix of town work motorway work at speed and thashing the nuts off it on A and B roads.

Bike has a Full akapovac system and K&N filter fitted all set up on a rolling road:thumb and is 2008 GSA.

Maybe you need to get your dealer to reset the fueling etc and take it for a long fast workout

I fuelled up last night after 280 miles. Although it wasnt empty this would give just over 42 mpg if I had to fully fill the tank.

If your only going for short trips the choke will be on for a lot of the journey, increase fuel cumsumtion. also being smooth with both throttle and brakes will help.

What model of bike is it ??.

"I like accellerating and braking heavily,"

Try not doing that for a tank and see what you get?

I know this has an influence for sure, but not that much, I think.

I can't imagine everybody here riding 'easy going' all the time :augie

Then what's your point of asking the question in the first place if you know the answer :blast :D

I've been using the Road Trip iPhone app religiously to work out my mpg. My last tank got me 42.87mpg and my average is 46.58 since January 2010. My lowest mpg has been 42.3 and my highest 50.1.

I've got an '02 1150 Adv & get around 200 miles on a standard adv tank.
Does that sound a little low?
Just fitted a new Lamda sensor (didn't have one fitted before) so hoping to improve on that.
Last fill was 22 litres. What should i be getting per tank?

if you are running a gs with wardrobes fitted then 46mpg should be the norm, but that depends what top cruise speed you use,at 80mph i used get 46mpg, but on a recent run back from northern wales from the dragon rally cruising at 70mph, i got 50mpg ,11miles to a litre
Also what size adv tank?, i had an 1150 adventure non abs with a 22lt tank, whereas the upgrade option was 33lt?
if you have a 33lt tank, your bike needs to see a doctor, if you are getting only 200 miles to a big tank.

I'm pretty sure it's not the 33 litre tank, looks standard spec to me. Maybe I should run it Til the petrol light stays on & see how many miles I get out of it.

well..

if it s a 22 lt tank , and the light comes on, you should have roughly 5 lts left, fill it up and see how many lts you squeeze in.
once filled, set trip to zero, ride for around 175 miles then start the search for fuel, see how many lts you put in,check the mileage, it should be around 10/11 miles per litre.ie 170 miles and 17lts fuel.
