I have the tank off to fit a Nautilus horn (all done excellent noise!). I checked the air filter which was supposedly changed during a full service by the prevous owners dealer and it looked like the original - so K&N now fitted.

I thought I may as well do the fuel filter at the same time whilst the tank is off. Started to undo the small bolts that hold the gubbins to the inside edge of the tank and fuel started leaking out :blast Really must get a manual.

Presumably I have to drain the tank? Whats the best way? I have some fancy hose clips that don't let fuel out when they're disconnected.

Any tips appreciated.

Wait until the tank is very low before changing the filter, one bar showing or reserve light on is best..

Why do you have to do it now just because the tank is off - You have the "fancy hose clips that don't let fuel out when they're disconnected" so it only takes 1 minute to take the tank off.

Cheers Steptoe,

I hoped you weren't going to say that since its got 25 miles off a full tank of fuel...... oh well.....
