Spent a couple of hours today changing the fuel filter and relocating it outside the tank. Bikes done 28k and after cutting the end of the filter off I have to wonder why its fitted in the first place. Very little mess inside. Is it cos the injectors can get blocked easily ? Bikes done more miles abroad than here so if it was going to get more crap fuel I would have expected it to be a lot worse. Never had filters on my old carbed R80GS and never had any problems with blocked carbs. Whats the options of not having one fitted ?
