Fuel filter 2010 F650gs

Hi Folks
I'd appreciate your input on this
As I understand it the fuel filter should be replaced every 24,000mls
I've been looking for fuel filters online & they seem to cost around £70.00. This seems really expensive. It may be a daft question but can someone tell me why they're so much more expensive on this motorcycle?

I think yer right with the price. BMW have supposed to have patented the filter / relief valve combined unit - So therefore dictate the silly price. One good tip that I haven't done yet, but you have just reminded me with this post, is to put a pre filter in before the BM do dah and then throw that away every 20k and see what happens. I also read a post that in Brazil they charge $300 for the fiddle

Where is the fuel filter? My 2009 twin does on list one.
