Fuel filter.

Now out of the tank. Seems to be several ways of doing this.

I don't have ABS so I put mine in the space under the tank where the ABS unit would have been.... poifec!

Tank removal every 24,000 miles isn't exactly onerous, is it????

It's not just tank removal - it's tank removal then tank disemble and generally a real proper pain in the arse to change the filter. And mine went way before 24000 too.

Precisely - thats why mines on the outside, if it's running rough or abnormally, just a 2 minute job to check if the filters blocked, and if it's not, no time wasted, you can get on and look elsewhere -

I've got to agree with fitting it outside the tank. When I changed mine the faffing around trying to get all the gubbins out then back into the tank in one piece was truly frustrating. After fitting the new filter and putting it all back together my fuel gauge wasn't reading accurately so I had to do take it all to bits again!

Smoking lots of fags and removing fuel tanks is not sensible but is completely justified in this mother of all frustrating jobs!

it's a petrol filter not an air -

you'll be asking for a cleanable oil filter next -
