Fuel gage not reaching full

Hi All

When I fill up my 02 1150GS the fuel gage slowly takes its time to "bar" up but does not 'light' up the last bar. Only a recent problem. Not essential as i always reset the mileage on the tacometer. But a wee bit annoying.

Any ideas about the cause and solution?

mine did the same after i had the tank off ,in the fuel stop i took off the plastic side cover disconnected the the sender at connection sprayed with wd40 worked ever since. just a thought.

Same here Dave, although I was hoping to get Decster to bite before replying.
Happened to me twice now. Crap really isn't it, doesn't appear to be corroded at all.

Tip for you Decster, don't do as I've done every time I remove the side cover. You should remove the central grommet if it comes off with the cover, and put it back on the bike. Not struggle to align this when it is on the side cover.

Mine went all wonky a while back. When I replaced the fuel filter I took out all the gubbins and cleaned the contacts on the sender arm and bent the contacts so they made better contact.

Has worked ever since.

Pain in the arse job though
