Battery went on the (08) GSA. As I said elsewhere, NOG were great and sent me off with a new one free.
Turned out it didn't fit as the new ones require a support piece for bikes of my year so I went back, got that (also free) and fitted the new one.
Started for about 15 secs, ran like a pig, died and then wouldn't start again.
Did a load of idiot checks, but hadn't done anything stupid. Finally admitted defeat and called them.
They took it away, rang back that afternoon and said "it's out of fuel - despite showing half a tank. The level sensor's gone."
How's that for luck? Turns out the 08 bikes have a weakness here.
Anyway, all fixed, free again and delievered back (NOG are great).
Reason for the post though - finally - is a slight warning. The receivers which hold the front element of the seat on sit on to tiny threads each. Turns out these are part of the frame and the plate is almost too thin for drill and tap if you were to, for instance, break one whilst absent-mindedly tightening it whilst on the phone :augie
Officially, according to Motorrad, that's a new frame. NOG bodged mine, but said they're not supposed to. Stupid bit of design.
