Fuel Gauge Problem

Hi All,

I know this subject has been covered before and I have done a search, but I have not been able to find the info I need..

My fuel gauge has stopped working... it is showing no fuel, yet I just filled it up!!

Please could someone give me an idiots guide to where the fuel gauge sender is and how to access it so I can clean the contacts and "WD40" it!

More likely to be the fuel strip inside the tank that has failed. A new one will also need recalibrating.

If your bike is out of warranty I wouldn't bother fixing it, resetting the tripmeter when you fill up is more reliable anyway.

How long did you wait?

My bike takes ages after fuelling before it decides where the level is.

I also have a dodgy fuel gauge but only just got my 54-reg 1200gs, after filling it shows from Full-Half full.

Whaqt can be done?
