Fuel guage

It seems that some people are always having these fail while others have no problems. I can't help wondering if there is an electrical issue elsewhere on some bikes that is damaging the fuel strips.

I have zero idea what that might be but just make the observation.

Mine failed whilst stalling the bike at a junction whilst pulling out. Not sure if the stall was the cause or the effect. Immediate warning triangle and fuel gauge counting down to zero on restart.

Exactly my thoughts....

I had mine replaced under warranty at 19600 miles. It's now done 20100 and its failed again :eek :blast

Back to NOG again

Fuel strips are flakey but 500 miles!!!

Tell NOG to properly check the whole circuit because going back for a new one (even under warranty) is a pain in the bits.

It would be interesting to see what they find.

What they will find is a crap design that doesn't last.

Same as the failing cam-chain in the 2l diesels. The GS fuel pump controller, final drive, ABS unit, original fitment battery ...

Crap crap crap. Never buy another.

Protest

I think everyone from this forum, and everyone else from you know that has these issues, be it fuel strip, exhaust valve, esa failure, and all the other regular faults that BMW refuse to accept should turn up at the dealer and all lodge a complaint at the same time on the same day across the country. It would be interesting to see how many people have had issues with the same crap.

I had one replacement that lasted about 20 miles. Current one, the third, has done about 11,000. Can't find a fingers crossed smiley, maybe they are all used up!
