So, just picked up my 2005 R1200GS from my local BMW Motorrad franchise.
It was in to have a fuel leak fixed - it was leaking from both sides of the fuel tank and apparently needed 'both fuel pumps' replaced with new seals, and a new 'fuel sender seal' plus 'high pressure hard lines' - I'm quoting from the invoice.
Anyway, less than a year ago the fuel pump was replaced after failure and I was expecting that if it needed replacing it would be done free of charge..
So my question is: is there any warranty provided for genuine BMW parts? Not sure why, but I expected a warranty for 12 months as a minimum but I haven't been able to find any documentation on line...
It's also annoying that I was told that it was the seals that were faulty on the fuel pump but apparently the whole unit needed to be replaced as the seals cannot be bought separately from BMW.
This turned out to be a VERY expensive repair - though still cheaper than a new bike!
