After plucking up some courage on my recently purchased 2008 990a adv I have tackled a valve check. Not surprisingly at 6000 miles everything spot on. Although glad I did it as I don't think anyone has been in there before.
Despite taking great (and I mean great) care on re assembly with connections and cable routes etc. The Fuel Injection light came on after the first 5 miles indicating rear lambda sensor. On the off chance based on internet research did an ECU reset (15 minute idle) But problem reoccurred after about 5 miles of riding.
Ripped the tanks off (what a performance compared to the old 1150 gs) and checked all connections, looking for trapped wire etc. set off again. This time about 10-15 miles out then same fault.
Decided it wasn't fatal and went out again as its the first decent weekend for ages. Low and behold no fault indication.
Is this the ECU recalibrating ? Have the piskies just fixed my bike? Should I just be grateful and get on with life?
Any thoughts ?
