fuel injector retainer snapped off whats the best way to fix it

As far as I know that piece is part of the fuel distribution system which holds the pressure regulator. So it is not a seperatly purchasable piece. You would have to get the whole assembly (13537664857).

Motorworks sell the complete assembly used for £25.

The trouble is to replace the whole assembly, is a real ball breaker as it sits on top of the air box. But maybe you could just replace the broken piece from a used assembly. I've never done it, but it is the route that I would take.

Good luck

yes i bought a replacement unit i was thinking of cutting it up and reconnecting it to the original pipe on the bike. its not long sins i fitted a new clutch and had the subframe in the air so i know how long it takes. plus i havent got the space in the garage at the min to be stripping the hole thing so need an easy fix
thanks

I had same issue once... i cut tue plastic bit off at the end.... then boiled some water and dip the trimmed end in to heat it up and make the plastic softer then pushed it onto the nipplely bit. Before it cools make sure it in the right postion... all had a heat gun at distance to keep the tip warm....

It works fine never had a problen with fuel pressure.. you just gotta keep at it.. the key is to soften the plastic enough that it takes the nipple... when it cools the plastic shrinks around the seal creating the seal...

Hope it helps

PS DONT USE A FLAME- AS WAS SUGGESTED TO ME..LOL

so what did you do cut the pipe with the snapped plastic bit in it then bought a new fuel reg with the plastic connector on. heat the new one up to pull in out from the pipe. ones you have pulled it off the new part. heat the pipe up on the bike then push it onto that. am i right ? i was going to cut the new reg up. and cut the pipe with the snapped bit in. with with a brass barb heat both ends and connect to gather if you can under stand that

HI
had the same problem. I bought the whole fuel pressure line assembly and then realised what a big job to do it actually is...
I also managed with help of a hair dryer/heat gun to extract the broken plastic piece carefully, got a replacement plastic fuel injector holder
and stuck it back on again whilst still hot. It shrinks kind of back and is solid as previously.
Easier then cutting , as might get too short and will be more difficult to repostioned onto the holder.
Works the treat, no problems. Saves you taking the whole bike apart, or at least half the bike….

how did you extract the broken bit
thanks

Heating the pipe carefully and had something with an edge and pulled it out.
Imagine something like a nail just longer and the head fits just about through
the inside of the pipe through the broken off plastic and then you hook it at the back
and heating and pulling and off it came…….
:bounce1:clap:clap

Hi sorry Yes heated the end up with boiling hot water and worked out with alittle bit or steal wire and a hook...PITA but keep at it...keep heating the end up boiling water and a decent soak worked best for me eventually I managed to squeeze it out...make sure you give it a good soak before u shove new bit on...hair dryer might work buti used a heat gun held away so as not to melt the plastic

Easy enough to replace the whole fuel line and regulator without lifting the rear subframe. I've done it a few times.
The whole unit can be removed by undoing the three bolts that secure the airbox, force it backward as far as it will go and remove the fuel distributor pipes etc from the R/H side of the bike, you may need to spread the solid abs brake lines.... And It can only be removed from the R/H side. You'll need to do lots of gently turning and twisting of the unit but it will come out.
Simply reverse the procedure to get the new parts back in place.

Fixed it just cut some of the fuel pipe were the plastic bit was stuck in then reconected the new plastic imjector thing job done
