Just had my fuel strip pack up for the second time ( 07 GSA). On phoning my dealer, been told that the part is now blocked from being orderd and nothing they can do in the forseable future pending a new design ? So cover the orange light and use the trip to calculate the fuel . Good innit !:blast

Nothing but encouraging as far as I'm concerned, I'll be having one of the new sensors when they come out, my gauge has been reading wrong for about 3 years now. No rush BMW eh :blast :D

Any bets the replacement is a tank conversion to take a float?
Why re-design a failure when the new bikes have a float assembly?

I broke the little bracket on the right handguard when I dropped it off roading at the Gs rally in Belgium at easter. Nothing else damaged.

Can I get a new one, can I fack.
Discontinued part FFS.
we can get a full set of the later guards sir.
Yeah I bet you can.
Rather a lot of money to replace a tiny little bracket.

Nothing really , but should I have to put up with a fuel guage reading zero , fecking bright orange light on all the time , intermittent operation of ignition switch ( new one coming from Ocean as BMW Limoges are closing for August ) TPS sensor coming on when you go over a bump , all on a 17k euro bike with a 100% service history. :nenau

Shit happens....get over it. It could be a whole lot worse, i.e. bike unusable !

That's bollox !! Had a look today and there's 295 in UK stock. R1200R ones are on hold which are slightly different so maybe that's where the confusion lies.

Thats what I was told by Adventure BMW Limoges and had it confirmed by Ocean Plymouth whilst ordering the ignition switch . :nenau Both companies know my bike is a 07 1200 adv

Ocean have access to the same system as I do. Because of the thread I double checked today with the part number of the film sensor we have in stock and its deffo showing 295 in stock at Bracknell. Its up to you who you believe. There is only one type of film sensor which fits the entire 1200 range apart from the 1200R which is different.

Ok just an update.
Went to local dealers this morning and ordered new sender (long strip thing that goes in the tank to tell the dash board how much petrol is in there) no problem at all, said it would take 3 days to get here (which is comon practice for guernsey)

So you should have no bother at all.
