what more can i do??

Look very closely at the pins and sockets in the 4-pin plug.
Can you see any corrosion?.You may need to use some fine emery cloth to clean them;not just spray.
If you have removed the pump/filter plate from the tank for any reason, you may have bent the fuel float lever and it is jamming.

Hi John!

Howdy howdy!:bounce1
This is another Norwegian.:thumb2

Fortell oss litt om deg i ''jeg er ny her''-avdelingen, så kanskje du får mere respons.
-Og velkommen skal du være! :clap

I just told him you all are 99% nuts, but if he pretend to be that too, we'll be good friends.

Hi John,

I had a problem with my 1150GS ADVENTURE fuel gauge as well. Mine was reading OK until empty, then i filled it up and it stayed at empty for about 50 miles, then came up to 3/4 full.

If you have run out of idea's, carry out the following.

1. Remove the tank (do this when it is either empty or very low!).
2. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY!!!!!!
3. Remove the fuel pump/gauge sender unit assembly. This must be removed very carefully, it can be a bit fiddly.
4. Carefully inspect the FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT. Move the float up and down and look at the point that the 2 sprung metal tags slide over the circuit board. On mine, when the tank was FULL, one of the sprung metal tags was not making contact with the circuit board. VERY carefully, adjust the tension on the sprung metal tag so as it makes light contact ALL the way through its travel.
5. THIS NEXT STEP MUST BE DONE WITH 2 PEOPLE, VERY CAREFULLY AS THERE IS A FIRE RISK!!!! Ensure the pump/filter/gauge unit is COMPLETELY free of petrol. Connect the battery, re-connect the pump/filter/gauge unit while the other person is holding it AWAY FROM THE BATTERY!!! DISCONNECT THE FUEL PUMP NEGATIVE WIRE TO ENSURE THE PUMP DOES NOT RUN AS THE IGNITION IS SWITCHED ON IN THE NEXT STEP!!!!

When you are sure you have isolated the fuel pump, switch on the ignition and carefully move the float up and down to test the gauge.

6. If all OK, re-fit pump/filter assembly and fit tank. NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU RE-CONNECT THE PUMP BEFORE YOU PUT IT BACK TOGETHER, NOT LIKE ME!!!!!!:augie:augie

Hope this helps,

Steve.
