Now guys I am totally confused. I have read several threads regarding making up a bypass lead. I have obtained from my local dealer an old scrap FPC and cut the small 2 pin plug that comes out of the bottom of the controller, it has the blue wire and the yellow wire. Some posts contradict others as to which is the positive wire, some say blue some say the yellow????
I have made up a lead with a powerlet plug but obviously must connect the wires the correct way around.
Which one is the positive +v please????

FPC

Hi itspilsbury,

There has been some confusion, however 'Wapping' has now provided confirmation. :- Blue is +ve. Dont know the post number, but if you 'search' you will find.

Hope this helps.

I was informed that no damage would be done by connecting it the wrong way around, just would not work.

I have been waiting to make mine for years now . . if only the bastad would just lie down & die I could get the pliers on it. :blast

Its black shiny replacement has done 1000s of miles pillion and is starting to get mighty pissed off.

Well I asked my dealer for a scrap FPC several months ago, and reminded them again about 4 weeks back. No response. Evidently there are no FPCs going bang round here

Hi everyone, even though my bike is new I decided I would find out for certain!!!
as I want to get the wires right, off to spain later this year and Morocco next.
I have undone my FPC and checked it with a circuit tester, the YELLOW wire gave out 13volts and the blue was about 1.5volts whilst the engine was running (even though it didn't last long before it cut out due to fuel starvation), so the yellow must be positive.
Thanks again,
Ian
