Fuel Range,MPG Data

For those who are interested:
(bit geekish I know, but useful for long trips
where fuel stations aren't as prevalent)

Collected a new 1200GS last week and was interested
to know fuel data while running in (as per manufacturers rec):

Trip set to 0 when full to brim
Fuel warning light on at 208 miles
Miles travelled when range read ZERO = 252
Filled up 3 miles later with 20.72 litres (full to brim)
Commuter comes up with a range of 50 miles left
although the bike travelled only 43 miles before it
read ZERO.

mpg = 56

Mixture of riding: town stuff but mostly A and B roads
Panniers not fitted

Incredible !

My warning light comes on at around 140 miles and the trip counts down 40 miles more.

Haven't chanced going over 180 miles on a tank yet.

I have only done 700+ miles so far, so maybe not enough data.

You should try an adv on one bar left on the countdown I got 200 miles (330 in total) and the yellow light still had not come on. But think as you say the bike needs to get data to sort itself out
