Along with a neighbour yesterday we attempted to change the fuel filter on my 1150. Having got the tank off, we looked at the plate that the pump/filter is attached to, and it appeared to be slightly buckled , like someone had tried to force it off with a screwdriver. Anyhow we took it off, changed the filter, put it back together again, only for two of the little studs to shear off when retightening the bolts. We tried to secure the plate with what studs are left but fuel poured out.
What now, we've tried some liquid gasket and but it's still seeping out, not much but enough to worry me. Is the answer a new tank, or is there a cheaper, quick option. :nenau

Oh Dear :D :D :D

You could perhaps try removing the plate and drilling out the sheared studs in order to attempt fitting some 'speed nuts' (captive nuts).

Or check out a place called 'Frost' ... they have a website www.frost.co.uk ..and look for the 'Oiltite' stick.

That`ll seal it....but don`t ask how I know about such things.... :o :thumb
