Now covered 2000 miles on my new 1200RT SE.
Honestly, its the best bike that I have ever had, from old British nails, to R80's.
Anyway, I 've always aimed to fill up at BP stations, using BP Ultimate 97 octane.
The last fill up had to be a Shell station, where I discovered Shell V power Nitro, 99 octane (its marked as a 'red' 'green' unleaded petrol!).
So, over two tankfuls I swear that the bike runs more smoothly, picks up more cleanly, and wait a moment, fuel consumption has dropped.
BP Ultimate 97..........57mpg
Shell V Nitro 99.........58.8 mpg.
Same type of riding, A roads, not a lot of dual carriageway, morning commute traffic, some back lanes, in fact the same journey to the same location has been made out of each tankful.
For now, I'm going to stick with the Shell.
