I've just bought a lovely 06 R1200GS from Vines, first week went to Dinan for a try at 2 up with luggage then the week after to North Wales. After a lifetime of sports bikes I'm getting used to it and loving it. Anyway - I want to fit a full exhaust system (Arrow) to get rid of the catalyst and have a bit of a rumble. I have had a KTM RC8 for the last 5 years and put an exhaust and had it dyno'd at Steve Jordans' in Bookham who did a great job. I asked them about the GS and they said I'd need a power comander as well as dyno time as they don't have the full BMW gear to do the job straight into the ecu as they did on the KTM. They said to fit the exhaust and come down to run it up on their dyno for £40.00 to see if it runs OK with just the O2 sensors doing the fueling.
Can someone let me know if I can just do all this and how it will run without adding the power commander and a couple hours dyno time?
Is there anywhere around the South East that has the right BMW gear and dyno to set up the fueling that could be recommended?
