Full Road tyres on GS

Hi all i,m thinking of fitting a set of road tyres to my gs for the summer and wanted to know has anyone tried this and what was the outcome ?

Likewise have road attacks on and think they are great - only downside is that they don't last quite as long as say Tourances; but the uplift in ride quality far out weights that, IMHO

Same here. I've had mine about a year with no problems. The "Trail Attack" tyres from memory have bigger treads, but as I won't be taking it off-road intentionally, I decided on the "Road Attacks".

Likewise have road attacks on and think they are great - ... the uplift in ride quality far out weights that, IMHO.

I've had both and TBH I couldn't tell the difference between them. From memory, the Road Attacks are made from a softer compund, which to me means they're "stickier" although the downside is that they don't last as long.

had road attacks now on trail attacks the trails attacks have done 9000 miles and still have some left in them can't really tell the difference performance wise hth

not bad, lack some feel and when they do let go its not particularly progressive.
I've currently got trail attacks and they seem to last forever but ultimately really lack grip on the road. To be honest can't stand the trail attacks and will try road smarts next. I was really surprised by how early the trail attacks let go just on the road let alone the track, never had that before with road biased rubber.

Just my opinion mind, based all on road, alps, ring, B roads etc

I fitted Battlax BT-020 and had no problem with them much better than the road pilots but I must admit to liking the original tourances too.

Just back from a 2500 mile tour on a brand new Avon Storm/ Azaro set up. Even did a few hours 'green laning' in the Alps and they have performed very well. They were good in cold and wet weather and are definitely smoother on the better surfaced European roads than the Tourances I had before. Had some real fun in the twisty bits when it warmed up too.

I'm sticking with Tourances, got 11k out of the last rear. Always had Battle axe 020's before on my other bikes but never got more than 6.5k out of them. When you do 28/30k a year it's a lot of difference

+1 I have the same experience with Trail Attacks, won't be buying them again. Have driven 4 pair of Tourance EXP, outstanding grip in dry and wet, IMO flawless. Will be trying Roadsmarts soon to see if they're an improvement.

+1 for the tourance EXP won't get a better tyre WET and DRY and the bike looks right with this style tyre on
