Fuse & brake lights

Please can any help. I have a 02 R1150GS fitted with ABS. The 4 amp fuse for the brake lights keeps blowing. The battery light then illuminates when the brakes are applied - either front or rear and the rev counter dies. When the brakes are released, the battery light goes out and the rev counter works normally. Also when starting the bike, only the top ABS light flashes. Any ideas why?

OUCH!

If it's still under warranty take it to the dealers and let them sort it out. If it's not under warranty, still take it back and push the goodwill angle...it's only just out!

Going in for 24k service week Tuesday! However, I think I have found the problem. The electrical wire from the hand brake lever fouled on the lockstop and wore through the plastic covering exposing the wires. This caused a short when the bars were turned on full left lock. Job jobbed!
