Future Classics that are cheap to buy now?

I also reckon the 850GS......partly because they are relatively rare, but also because they are fine bikes in their own right :thumb2

:beerjug:
I was thinking of chopping my 19k miles 850GS in for an X Country, but I know I will regret it.

You sure you haven't mixed up your arse with your elbow there? :nenau
Yes your probably right..

modern classic? the 916 was an instant classic.

i'm really struggling to think of any modern map bike destined for classic status. i'd say eddie lawson rep kawas, but they already are. honda sp1 probably.

T309 Speed Triple

Got to be a 900,:beerjug:

Possibly the RD500 or the RG500

Good RD's and RG's are selling for around 5k, NSR 400 are about a grand cheaper, the early Ducati 748 sp looks a good punt

Already a classic and not that easy to find a cheap one.
Shame someone has put Renthals on that one though.

When i did the conversion,it was all done so that it was easy to return to the standard clip ons,i sometimes change it half way through the summer just for a change, like having a new bike:D

Honda VFR800i - bloody brilliant all-rounder :thumb

Maybe, but can't see it getting classic status anytime soon.

Best and most desirable of the class (IMO) is the final 750 model.

I second the TRX850 and the TL1000S and for me it has to be the original, bronze, unrestricted Hayabusa.

Bloody gutted I sold my Hayabusa a few years ago wish I had held on to it! :blast

So what do you think are the emerging classics that won't break the bank to buy now?

My top 3:

1. Gpz900 Rewrote the rules when it was launched and won the TT straight out the box.
2. FJ1100/1200. Quick and bulletproof and a little bit Bimota.
3. Slab sided Triumph Tiger 900 triple. Just because I like them :D

you need to identify your intended buyer at present he is in his late teens maybe early twenties, there are things he cannot afford now but maybe in 30 years time he will have money to spend (you may have seen the type at classic bike shows) and being as todays youth dont do bikes i think this plan as no future

Honda XRV750 Africa Twin and XR600R.
Suzuki DR350S.
Yamaha Serow 225 and XTZ750 Tenere.
Moto Guzzi Quota 1100.
Cagiva Elefant 900ie.
