Just learned that the DID 525 VXGB Clip Links are no longer available... need a couple for my spares kit. Apparently they're only reccomending the Rivet links? Had to get a couple from Amazon USA as I couldn't find anywhere in the UK or an alternative (such as the Iris 525 X-Ring Gold Split Link) that would fit. I'll get a Rivet link too but in an emergency I want to have the option of the split link.

I don't sell 525 split links but, whether you're using split links or rivet links, it's important to use the correct link for the chain you're fitting it to.

I originally stocked a selection of links as an after-sales service for those who had bought chains off me and for which they are a perfect fit. But I am amazed at the number of people who buy a link with no real idea of whether it will fit their chain or not.

The most critical dimension is the pin size. Mine are 5.2mm (which I believe, but don't know, is the same as a DID). But pin length is also important. Too short and the link won't fit. Too long and the link will have end-float - if it's a ringed chain, will then allow ingress of crap etc.

Always use a link specific to the chain you are fitting it to!
