Does anybody know if the centre stand from a Paralever GS will fit a Monolever G/S please?

The later paralever stand is flared so that the legs sit outside the exhaust when it is stowed, whereas the earlier monolever stands' legs sit inside the exhaust. I'm thinking the paralever one will be more stable.

If anybody has tried this I might save some money if it didn't work!

Thanks Kenny, but has anybody else actually tried it ??
If not I suppose I'll have to front up to the moths and open my wallet.

Do a search in ADVrider airheads section. That question is regularly asked over there. The stand is too tall, & the stand itself is an R100R stand set up for a left exit muffler, so the leg sticks out further than the standard GS stand. I recall the answer being no, & that someone did try to match them up.

Mark Manley runs one on his bike.

This is Marks Quote

"A GS stand will fit straight onto a G/S but will be too long, you can either shorten a GS stand or lengthen a later monolever stand as I have done. They are much easier to use than the original and more stable on soft ground."

Thanks for that Rob, and others for your replies.
I've just fitted one to my G/S. Got one from Motobins for £30 delivered. It does bolt straight on as Mark says but doesn't seem to make the bike higher when it's on it. It is easier to deploy due to the greater leverage and ergonomics of the stand. Much more stable.

One small problem, the stand I bought said it was "for the low exhaust paralever, but will fit the standard exhaust model" There's a rubber buffer on the rhs which I had to make a small bracket for. Without the bracket the stand would have hit the exhaust when retracted. The new bracket mounts on the rear brake light s/w bracket.
I've got photos but buggered if I know how to attach them. Why are all forums different?
