G/S or GS ...

Myself and my partner Jules are consuidering doing the Stella Alpina in 2005 and she would like to do it on a R80... now this is the issue. Tracking one down is a probbie, does anyone have details of old Beemer specialists. BMW shops all seem to have "big windows" and like their other motorcycling counterparts only sell machinnes less than 5 years old.

There has to be equivalents out there of the shops that sell old Jap bikes from the eighties scattered around.

Anyone know of any within striking distance of a days ride from the north end of Hertfordshire?

If you really want a G/S and cannot find one - I have an ST for sale plus a 21" front wheel and G/S front forks plus the other bits need - you would then end up with a road going mono and an offroad one
You can do anything on an ST that can be done on a G/S - they are really the same Bike

Yup that was plan B getting an ST... the post here was just on the off chance that there was some wee dealers tucked away somewhere that specialise in old airheads. I usually find out about the small specialists for bits for my Suzuki GS's that way
