Hi Guys

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems ordering parts for the G450X? How quickly can BMW Dealers usually get parts?

The parts supply is poor.
Waited seven days for a front sprocket, and brake pads unavailable.... wtf, unavailable?
And now I've been waiting ten days for a rear left indicator.
Other waits, eight days for top clamps, two days for yoke bolts.
So, for some time my 450 has been a VOR (vehicle off road)...... but the wrong type of 'off road'.

Timpo,

Got to agree with you there.

Dealers are in a tricky position, none of them have sold enough of them to justify having parts on the shelf like a KTM dealer, this is frustrating for those who have taken the plunge.

At the very least they should have fast moving parts, sprockets, brake pads, oil filters etc.

The other issue I have is are the BMW dealers 100% committed to the off road scene, yes if its a GS, no if its a G!

Either BMW need to get tough with their dealers (unlikely in todays climate) or create a fast track process for low vlume parts.

Being able to order on line would be a good start, at least takes the frustration of travelling to a dealer to be then told 7 days.

KTM dealers are far from perfect....... Factory orders left, right and centre, so VOR for seven days, the same. Absolute sh!te in this age.

And as for perfect, well, 12 years ago I had an XR400, one of the first in the line. And Honda had a '5 star dealer' 24 hour delivery scheme for any part. Their central store I believe was Belgium, so that is 'perfect' in my book.
This seven day lead time to delivery is very bad.

I have found them to be pretty good actually, had sprockets, chains, oils, filters and brake pads in stock got the side stand bolt and handle bar clamp bolts next day. My local dealer is Wollaston BMW in Northampton.

Speedbrain is very fast and for brake pads cheaper then BMW.

But my dealer ispretty goeed, airfilters, oil filters etc in stock.(and that is very nice of him because i am the only one with a g450x).

need a new steer, bended mine after a hillclimb t6hat was not as planned.....
i dont think the dealer has it in stock, so i will go to the mx shop, the have many.

hhmmm bended my magura sx steer last sunday after a hillclimb that was/t succesfull...
need a steer for thursday..
the lokal mx shop got an renthal and evo.
dont know if there a big difference.
Only thing i want is that my acerbis multiplo fits on the end of the bar.

will let you all know how the new steer feels like

its a pro taper evo henry/reed.
feels good.

NOw i need neww gascables because the end is broken so dirt comes in an it "wrenches "against something an d ik could brake....
Also the front brake hose has e :knack: in it its not broken and no braking flowing goinog out.
but i feel better with a new one..

SPeedbrain comes with a E3 kit (480cc?) soon, have special CDI if you want and come with more tuning powerparts engine wise!!!!!!!!!!
