New to us X country giving it a good once over.
Water pump to engine hose does your hose that sits under the header pipe touch the header pipe ?
I have put a new one on because the old one showed signs of contact so I replaced it with a new one but also put so heat reflective sleeve on in that area of contact.
Great ! bike refilled with coolant and running up till the fan kicks in ,I look at the hose and it is touching due to expansion bug-er any way now it has cooled down a bit we have clearance again.
So all this waffling basically does yours touch when the engine is at running temp ?
Thanks

Forgot to state it is on a std exhaust system , I have read about other systems having clearance issues if not checked before tightening.

No, doesn't touch ... and shouldn't touch ;)

Thanks for the info Micky

I will have another look in the morning loosen the header and silencer see if I can gain some more clearance.
Nothing looks bent or damaged.
But I will have a careful considered inspection of the fitment.

The bike has only done 15K and only 500 since being serviced and sold by a BMW dealer to the person I purchased it from , not too impressed with some of the things I have found so far ----- wrong index on No plate -- front tyre wrong way round -- battery installed the wrong way round and not secured and battery connectors straightened (should be bent I believe)-- the coolant hose heat damaged -- incorrect coolant level -- oil level too high.
Some of the above would appear to be down to the dealer (not good) , the seller was appalled when I asked him if he replaced the tyre (new on when he bought the bike) and No plate he had not noticed the last letter was wrong ( easily done F instead of E but still )

Got any X Country extras you want to part with Micky ?

But since correcting the tyre/ No plate /fluid levels and then riding the bike it is a great ride and her indoors likes it clutch operation is a little firm ( I think it is alright) but I have now swopped the lever and perch over to an span adjustable F twin spark one and that has helped her with the clutch.
