Gambia on an airhead?

Resting on top of the PIAA lights?
I'm thinking you'll find it necessary to remove them once the fitting kit arrives.
Also, the indicators will hit the tank with the OEM top yoke, I don't know how your new one will get on.

Good stuff Thunder. Keep em coming. :thumb2

There's actually daylight between the PIAAs and the tank in that position so I won't be making any decisions on what lights to fit until I get the tank kit.

The new top yolk sits 5 mm higher than the stock so I don't know how that will affect the indicators in relation to the tank but I like nothing more than a bit of fettling :bounce1

Any ideas on what solutions have been used before?

OK BM you may say I told you so about the lights, borrowed a fitting kit off Electric Monk (Ta matey), finally got the tank on properly and not a chance in hell of the PIAA staying on the crash bars :blast

However it looks a lot better in the correct position IMPO, yes its big but it's low as well so the center of gravity with a comparable fuel load to the original will improve, for those times it's filled I'll just take it easy. :augie

Got a couple of shots in the garage owing to time limitions, will get some outside over the weekend but these will give you an idea.

Good news is the indicators don't touch the tank (it's close though) and the front mudguard is well clear.:bounce1

The slight issue I've found with a monster tank is that the leading edge is likely to get hit by stone chips. Get some clear fablon and stick it over the paint in this area. Even if you only suffer from splattered flys it still makes it easier to clean and can save your paintwork.

Top tip Sid, suitable material just ordered :thumb

Nothing a complete strip, rebuild, frame powder coat and paint job won't sort :D

I cleaned that one up and mended all the bent and broken bits and sold it as I inherited the bike that came with me.

Maybe I should have chucked it in that skip, but it now looks like:D

Quick update on the rear sub-frame and the indicators position on full lock in relation to the HPN tank.

Got the rear sub frame back and it's a cracking job. My criteria was to keep it looking like the original yet a lot stronger, Jaythro of this parish who offered to do the work in support of the trip fulfilled all criteria and I'm well pleased.

Sub frame was dropped off this morning along with a few other bits for powder coating and should be ready by the end of the week ready for fitting.

Big thanks to Jaythro for the work and offering to do it in the first place. :clap:clap:clap

I came up with solution to the indicators being near the tank without haver to resort to the use of rubbers (:augie).

The PD comes with a spacer mounted on the standard steering stop to deal with it's wider tank, I simply removed this, made an additional spacer to fit over it, drilled a hole over it's mounting point then refitted both components back to the steering stop.

Bobs your Uncle, Fannies your Aunt, instant clearance between the tank, the indicators and the switch gear. :D

It's alive!!!!!!! :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1

Reinforced sub frame fitted, new brake lines and the tank fueled (not filled though :augie) going to head out in the morning but thought I'd post some pictures and a little video clip courtesy of Ms Cheeks.

Damned thing is so stable and the Sito sounds fantastic IMPO. :thumb
