Roger,
I have never been RTW or off road in a big way and the longest that I have ridden in one day is 1,000 kms - so take my comments as just my (hopefully constructive) suggestions as sometimes such can be useful - they are not criticisms
As I said in an earlier post the Bike looks great and you have done a commendable job.
Here are just a few of my thoughts
Did you think about the twin BMW Disc set up with K calipers - rather than billet - I have never been a fan of billet - also the twin BM disc set up would give you options if one disc failed.
In my view you do not need a rev counter, (but an oil temp, oil pressure and voltmeter would be useful - I see that you have got two of these - I notice that you have a PD dash - if you can get the early one, it has one big hole and two small ones.
Although it looks useful - that fairing could be "hot" and (heavy) or have you included this this bring more weight balance, front versus rear, to the Bike- did you think about the BM PD screen and small fairing, maybe lighter and the BM "roo" bars can be useful - but maybe they will not fit with that HPN tank
Normal BM "floppy" indicators are good when they get knocked - they spring back.
Then just a few questions:
Presumably you have NOT fitted stainless spokes
How have you strengthened the rear sub frame to take all that weight that is going into those panniers
What have you done about the charging system - I always felt that it would be good to "wire in" say an additional PC680 as well as the normal 30Amp GS PD battery.
What will the Bike weigh, fully loaded - and what will the weight balance be like front versus rear when loaded - have you worked this out yet
Cheers

No, I personally like Harrison Billet, give great braking with lots of feel when configured correctly and never had an issue with them in the past. The bike is not fitted with BMW forks or yolks so BMW parts are not a straight swap.

I personally like a rev counter plus this one has the oil pressure, charge, neutral and high beam status lights built in which saves space on the dash. On the subject of the dash its not a PD one but a one off which I had laser cut from checker alloy plate for strength and rigidity. When I say one off I had 3 made with different holes for different configurations plus a blank for unforeseen configurations.

Its all a matter of compromise, riding from the Western Isles in winter through Europe the protection and "heat" provided by the fairing will be welcome, when it gets warmer that can be dealt with by removing some layers. The bikes suspension has been set up to deal with the fairing and its subframe.

Indeed they do.

Not touched the wheels apart from checking them over and fitting new boots, they came as I got them from Colt's store cupboard.

Nothing, the rear subframe is more than capable of handling any load I could place on it and then a bit more.

Bike has had an Enduralast system fitted to handle charging and additional heated clothing, lights etc. In addition it has an Odessey 680 instead of the stock BMW battery plus Enduralast have supplied a spare combined regulator rectifier just in case.

No idea and no is the answer, but I know a man who does and I'll let him sort the suspension out as he has more experience, in fact its how he makes his living
