Garage alarm that alerts your phone

If the have the option of running a POE cable to the garage then the sky’s your limit… dome camera / cameras with a HDD recorder and you will have 24/7 recorded surveillance of said location
I have a HikVision system on the house and its top!

Thanks buddy, I’m not to hot on tech so probably won’t go that route 😆 but thanks again.
 
If you need some help let me know. I’m not tech either, leave that to the likes of @sparkplug but setting up a couple of dome cameras with a POE cable and a HDD box is as simple as plug and play.

Plug it in, good viewing angle, movement alerts whitch can sound an alarm if so chosen and phone notifications.

Brilliant solution for a garage.
 
Lots of off the shelf options out there that don't need much setting up.

Reolink do a bunch of cameras and will alert your phone. They even do solar powered ones but they do need to be in range of your WIFI.

Download the app, scan the bar code and off you go.

Some of the cameras have a built in audio alarm, most have two way audio so you can talk through it and say 'get off my land' or whatever...

Indeed a lot of options and acknowledge my kack handedness when it comes to anything teckky.....
I am just very impressed with the HikVison system for round the clock recording and HD surveilance and it links to an app on your phone. Yes, its not cheap but if the contents of your garage are valuable, say a couple of bikes etc, then its a small investment in my mind.
Here is what I have as an example and really provided you can run the cables easily it really is a fantastic system. I have one on the house with 2 dome camera and one bullet cam. You can even get ones you can move & rotate via remote.
My NVR (the ''black box'') has 4 ports so max 4 HD cameras.
No power needed just mount and run a ethernet cable to them, then run the cable to the NVR. Each cam requires one Ethernet cable.
Price is from a NL website so not sure about UK.

Have a look at cctv direct website, if you want something good. Ajax alarms
 
HikVision are really excellent. Installed those in most of my customer sites.

For home use and budget I really like the Reolink sytem - it's really flexible and customisable and stupidly easy to set up.

No subscriptions, you can set it up to record to a hub if you prefer not to use the micro SD cards...

They do cellular cameras if you can't get the WIFI to reach it, doorbells, floodlight cams, etc etc etc that all just plug and play together.

Do Ring still have a subscription? I seem to remember they did but haven't looked at their stuff in years.
 
Ring doorbell for me, I have one on the front door so it made sense to put one in the garage. Great to have the ability to have a look and see if anything is occurring and it provides immediate phone notifications as soon as you open the garage.

Hikvision for me.

A variety of camera types around the house and garage.

Should someone attempt a break-in, then think about a discreet and low down placement, to identify hood and baseball cap wearing scrotes.
 
I also have a Google Nest Camera, and also have a subscription that means that I get 24/7 recording.

I also have a wifi Meross garage door opener from Amazon, which I bought years ago as I wanted to be able to remotely open/close the garage with the app. Then a few years ago I realised that I could use Samsung Smartags to as the remote door fob (instead of using the dumb open close fobs that came with the door).

So now when I use the Smartag the door will open or close and I'll get a notification. I'll also get a notification if the garage door is left open after 30 minutes, an hour, 2 hours etc..... (just in case I forget).
