Garage recommendations please

Hi guys,

I will be picking up my 1150GS next weekend (can't wait), but I want to put it through a service, not sure what service it needs at 53,000 but I want the full works.

Can any one recommend a good dealer/independent near Trowbridge in Wiltshire?

There is a dealer in Bristol, but it is a bit of way, I would have to a have loan bike.

I am not expecting this service to be cheap, but does any one have an idea how much it might cost?

... take it to the acknowledged oilhead guru ? Steptoe is yer man, based in SW London which is about 85 miles from you. Well worth the trip but his loan bike handles like a shopping trolley

+1. I rode up there last week for a major service, and just the saving in cost over a dealership was well worth the trip, plus you know the bike has been serviced by someone with a long-term passion for the bikes. While the bike is being worked on, you can easily kill time in Kingston which is just a couple of miles from Steptoe.

Another non BMW dealership option is Premier Bikes in Didcot, where I believe several mechanics are ex-BMW. They are very highly rated by people I know, and their prices are lower than at a BMW dealership, but still more than Steptoe.

I'd recommend James Sherlock down in South Molton, Devon. Tim does good work and you've got a beautiful ride on the Taunton, Bampton south Molton stretch.
