Vintage storage pigeon holes. Been in my dad’s garage for 30 years ish and came from Arthur Lees & Sons steel works in Sheffield where my dad was chief engineer. He took this when the factory closed after being bought by British Steel. My dad believes it could be 100 years old he has known it for at least 50 of those. 6ft long 29inches tall. No items on shelf included £100 collected seems fair.

Thanks for all your kind words.. The second one is a mill engine (scale) which used to power our mills on different floors this would have been in the basement running off belts to the different floors, the first is the start of a Stuart Major beam engine but my dad wanted to make it a twin which has never been done so he’s now 4 years in and nearly done, it looks different now it’s painted, the steam engine was another long term project as well as many others which he just tells me to take as he has no use for them.
The last picture is his cluttered workshop which isn’t as bad now since he had a fall but the garage where his large lathe is and his milling machine is still needs work hence the storage shelves to go.

Those photos or your dad are deadly, especially the last one. It looks like complete clutter but I reckon your dad knew where everything was down to an inch.

Love the fact he's wearing a big coat must have been freezing in there yet he looks so contented

My dad loved old machinery especially steam engines. We would go to Monalty steam threshing festival every year when I was a kid. I grew up watching Fred Dibnah on the telly with him. Guess that's where my interest comes from.

To be fair I know he is very talented but I’ve had this all my life (58 now) but take it as the norm now . My garage is full to busting with his things as he keeps saying there no good to me now just sell them but it’s hard as it’s part of hism while he’s still here and active and likes to come and look at his projects, motorcycles, models etc and I’ve got my own rubbish I’ve collected etc
