...I need to buy some storage and shelves for my garage, as my old hut is falling to bits and needs to make way the kids trampoline...

...suggestions welcome....not looking to spend a fortune!!!

Down the builders merchants for a couple of sheets of 18mm WBP ply and a selection of galvanised brackets.

Cut ply into suitable shelves, screw brackets to wall, ply to brackets.

Sand down the edges, fill and paint if you're fussy about such things.

I bought some old filing cabinets - the large cupboard type - from a s\h office equipment supplier. Perfect as you can close the doors and hide away all of the accumulated junk that ends up in the garage. I gave MrsT her "own" cabinet and a simple rule - if she wants to put it in the garage, it must go in her cabinet. Hey presto she no longer sees the garage as a junk room!

Loads of cheap shelving out there, ready made from pressed steel, wood or plastic or make your own out of anything suitable.

Old kitchen cupboards / worktops are free if you can find someone ripping them out or try the council tip.

Look in the 'Show us your garage' thread for ideas.

Use a bit of imagination. It's not very difficult, is it?

For great value this unit has the shelves at just the right width to fit helmets:
