Two held over pharmacy robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection with a burglary in Co Westmeath in the early hours of this morning.

The robbery took place at a pharmacy in Oliver Plunkett Street in Mullingar at about 2.15am.

Gardaí responding to a report that a car had been rammed into the building arrived to discover four masked men attempting to flee the scene.

Gardaí pursued the men on foot and arrested two of them close to the scene.

The two men, aged 21 and 19, are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Mullingar Garda Station.

A search is continuing for the remaining men.

The scene is currently being preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and have any information to contact Mullingar Garda station on 044-9384000.

Anyhow, I love to see the country fighting back against the Baddies (although the white collar baddies seem to be immune but that is another day's chat)...

Looking from here, it does worry me that we are losing control of our quality of life due to the acitivities of Baddies and I fully support all that is being done to curtail them.

To say it is well known that Irish gangs are living in Spain and Holland seems a national disgrace to me. I would like my reputation restored please.

No word from the Biker Boyo (who was a dacent chap, kept the Peann Luaidhe in the Poca as we said before). I am not sure if the tentacles of An Garda siochana reach to the Middle East. The speeds we drive at here, it is just as well.
There is a rash of positive stories in the paper about drug seizures and arrests etc. I think they are giving it their best shot, showing determination not to let my country be stolen, dude.
Mr. Ahearn is announcing more places inside too, not that it is the full cure but it maybe helping Garda morale (morale na n'Gardai?) to know they won't meet the same gouger on the street at least for a few weeks after they get sent down for 3 years.

I have no firsthand info, but it seems the grip was lost and is being regained.

Man held over cannabis seizure

Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to question a man following the seizure of 1.1 tonnes of cannabis resin.

The seizure was made during a joint Garda and Customs operation at an industrial premises in Dunboyne, Co Meath last night.

This seizure, subject to analysis, has an estimated street value of €6.6 million.

The man in his 30s was arrested close to the scene and is being held at Blanchardstown Garda station under Section 2 of the Drug trafficking Act.
