Garda Ride safe course.

Lads I heard about this from a mate the other day but he didn't know to much about it. I contacted the traffic corps there today to find out more but they've stopped running them until the spring. So I'll have to wait until I get back from Chad in May-June before I can do it.

Has anyone done this course and did it make any difference to your insurance? Is it worth doing?

I'm looking to expand my riding ability and plan to go to the BMW off road place around the same time. Although I know the BMW course won't have an effect on my insurance.

What other courses can I do in Ireland to improve both my riding and my insurance qoute?

Hi Eric,
I've done training with Ogmios and Bike Safe both are very worth while doing.

Bike Safe was designed to bridge gap between motorcyclists and Gardai plus offer some guidance on where you could be going wrong/right. Thus trying to reduce fatalities/accidents on our roads.

Ogmios is deadly

I done the bike safe 7years ago and found it benifical. As said it is an assessed ride but the feedback from the Guard is very good. Also it gives a good indication of what will be tolerated on the road from the bike Garda in general. JJH
