On my recommendation, a mate ordered a 2610 from GPS whorehouse.

When he got his box of bits he found that the 12/24V power adapter to use in a car was the wrong part (it does not have a speaker and the plug is not 2610 shaped). It appears that those little Garmin packers in Taiwan shipped a batch with the wrong part in the box.

GPSW are aware of the problem and are checking existing stock and replacing the incorrect part. If you happen to have a box delivered before GPSW intervend then don't panic. Contact customer service who will forward the correct part.

What part did you get? Any pics of the item?

No idea what part: it's at a mate's house in Folkestone and he's just gone away for Xmas.

GPSW messed up with the replacement too: instead of sending the correct power supply/speaker unit they sent a bean bag mount!

Useless feckers.

Got mine all present and correct within a couple of days all the way to Germany so can't fault them on that, although they did still charge me VAT after making me get the forms to prove I'm tax exempt, should be getting a refund so not to worried:)

looks like a sp 3 speaker.
I got one last week from them it had some kind of window mount in the box and not the 12volt power lead and speaker, I gave them a bell and part arrived the next day good service in my book!!

I found a 2610 under the Chrsitmas Tree (thanks, Santa!).

I think the elves must have been pretty busy in the lead up, 'cos my 2610 had a suction mount with 12 volt lead, but no audio, and it didn't fit the 2610.

I've written to Santa c/- GPSW, so here's hoping the big fella, having emptied his sack, ain't gone to sleep just yet.

An update: after a little stutter, when they shipped an extra bean bag monunt. GPSW finally got the correct part to my mate on Saturday.

He's now very happy with his purchase.
