natty bracket(non touratech of course)
HI all, i made this totally non Touratech sat nav mount for my 1150 gsa, tucks in neatly behind the bar pad and seems to boost the gps signal on the bike.
It works much better on the bike than it does in the car, even with two sunroofs, and the unit right at the front of the car windscreen.
You need to get longer stainless bolts from the bolt shop and make up some small pillars for the the new longer bolts to pass through so as to raise the alloy plate above the handle bar clamps.
The tubalar spacers(pillars) need to fit inside the handlebar clamps where the old allen heads would have been, then the longer allen bolts pass through the plate , then the spacers and finally the handlebar clamps, and tighten down securely.
I used the plastic garmin clamp, around £6 if i remember rightly, the whole job cost around a tenner all in, and i polished the alloy plate with solvol and coated with clear laquer afterwards , to stop corrosion.suits me!!! Paul
