Garmin 2820 - Good price?

The main difference that strikes me is the Zumo has an internal battery so you can use it off the bike but the 2820 requires an external power source. Otherwise they are similar in terms of features but the 2820 is a physically larger unit so may be a bit bulky to cart around compared to the Zumo that fits in a pocket.

I was wondering about this too... looks like a good unit.

Would it slot straight into the BMW Navigator II cradle..?

Not totally sure but I seem to remember hearing that normal Streetpilot GPS units don't have the right gizmo inside to allow the mounts extra buttons to function.

:nenau

Does anyone know if the 2820 suffers from the auto recalc problems that the older Garmins had? i.e the issue that if you go off route the unit automatically recalculates the whole route (usially over a motorway) as opposed to going back to the nearest waypoint and then back over the planned route? does the 2820 suffer from this?

No - you can turn off auto recalculation on this unit.

I have had one of these since they were released - have been very pleased.
