Having bought the latest (and almost most expensive kit)
Scuberth C3 Pro
Schuberth SRC Bluetooth kit
Apple 5 C

- I have the following observations ; ( hope they are of some use for prospective purchasers)

(i)The helmet is truly superb , everything you read about it is true- It just transformed my motorcycling . I particularly like the open face experience when bumbling ( app 15 mph) past traffic. Its quiet , exceptionally light and comfy . At higher speeds "buffet" is markedly reduced compared to my Arai Chaser.

(ii) the blue tooth works happily with the GPS instructions. Nice to have the safety camera warning as spoken words in my ear.
(iii) using the SRC with an iPhone or hoping to route sounds/podcasts/media from the phone through the GPS to the SRC is a bloody nightmare. It wastes hours of your time and basically is flawed every step of the way.

Finally Scuberth - and for me this is reason enough to return the SRC and buy a Sena S20 ... the updates are only supported on a windows pc - nothing for mac users . Frankly as a mac lover - that is pretty poor!

Last comment the FM RDS radio may work in Europe or the USA but it doesn't work here .

I nearly bought an SRC for my Schuberth C3 last year but when studying the website it said that only Windows was supported.
I sent them an email asking if it would work with Apple products and they said no.
So I didn't buy one.
Great helmet though.

Just back from a 650 mile trip to and round the Isle of Man.

The helmet (C3Pro ) was truly amazing, best features were integrated comms, comfort ( a first for a Scuberth !), drop down sun visor (not that we saw much sunshine) and the buffet free nature of 80 mph plus rides.

I did eventually get the media on the phone all linked up, but my experience is that Bluetooth can and does "drop out ".
I also found listening to anything over 57 mph pretty much impossible.

Just an update - because I'd probably ( thanks to my impatience) been unfair to the integrated Schuberth SRC.

It is tricky to use. The manual is full of bloated trivia. You have to invest the time to learn all the various button presses and combinations. Its frustrating and very time consuming.
I guess I'm the kind of guy who wanted to jump on my bike and ride! When I'm home I'd rather be playing with my children rather than wading through a boring Zumo GPS/C3 PRO / SRC manual.

Having said all that; its a superb product. the quality of the audio is far better than expected. Integration with the 590 GPS is good.
I also love the FM ( RDS) radio. I indicated above that the radio was crap - well I discovered that the people I purchased the helmet and SRC from didn't actually connect up the antenna ( aerial) connection . The SRS FM radio didn't stand a chance!

Battery life is enough for 2 days riding. Its so well integrated with the helmet I can't imagine using a 3rd party product velcro'd onto the side of my lid or messing with a wired solution.

Riding with friends who have similar kit is a whole new experience. Years ago, perhaps seeing a friend at the kerbside ahead, you might stop might stop at his side and ask "whats up?" . He might have answered; he's tweaking an idle setting on his carburettor or maybe checking a slack chain. Now when that happens, he's prodding his GPS with a digit and answers " my Bluetooth has dropped out again!"
