Can anyone help me please. I've somehow managed to get my nuvi760 working on my bike, but ive faffed around with it so much ive bust the power lead.

Does anyone have one spare that they dont want or may be willing to sell me one. I am told not to even bother going online to order one as they are as rare as honest politicians, so im not even going to bother. I spent ages and ages trying to get Cyprus maps downloaded onto an SD card so that I could use it when I go back to Cyprus on december 5th, and now, sods bloody law I go and break the power lead. Its got a cigarette lighter socket one end and on the other end is a small sort of rectangular black plastic and metal bit that goes into a slot for the satnav holder (other end of it is a suction cup which is working nicely on the flattish screen on my bike... well that and masking tape seems to be holding it nicely...... for now!!!!

As the T yours has the lump in the lead for the traffic antenna, correct? Under advice from Scthum of this parish I ditched that in favour of a power only lead for use on the bike. The weight of the antenna puts too much strain on the socket/plug apparently.

Some 4,000 miles later and I haven't had any problems with this on my Nuvi 765T. Who needs traffic on a bike anyway.

thats brilliant, thank you for the information, however I MAY have a solution.
I managed to find the number for Garmin head office in Southampton somewhere, spoke to somebody there and he said there may be a few floating round the office and if there were I could have one, which is good of them....

Will wait and see and if no joy I will go buy one, using the link you have provided...

The power in for the 700 series Nuvis is 12v, so I cut off the lump on the lead I linked to above, it's only got an LED inside anyway. I did buy some 12v power regulators but TBH I haven't bothered installing one. All been fine to date.

765T

If you are just going to charge it through the mini USB port, make sure you get a 100% garmin compatible one. Many ones on sale will charge the battery OK, but if the voltage is not correct the display will dim down after a short time and be impossible to view on the bike ....... I got caught out ....... works great now!!
Cheers
