Having moved over to the dark side MAC last December i have endeavoured to have a real good go with Mac itrip and or Basecamp. I soon found Basecamp to be far more user friendly and better IMHO than itrip so i have been getting along fine in the main.
I must confess to also loading my Mapsaurce after splitting the drive which meant i also had to install Windows 7
Only using Mapsaurce when i was unsure re basecamp. Until last week about the time of my GSA ESA packing in
also one of my 1TB hard drives packed in on my iMac (super service from Apple all done new hd replaced within 24hrs from Apple
It also coincided with another little problem sometimes when i was sending routes to device e.g. Zumo 660 it would show the little stick of rock blue and white spinning and say transfer to device complete but when i open the Zumo the route or routes were not there!!! Very feckin annoying. At this point i would have to re boot my iMac in Windows mode use the Mapsaurce and open the route download it to Zumo and it would all work OK.
I do not run parallels program so its a pain in the arse having to turn off and on to re boot etc etc.
So after getting my iMac back from Apple today with the new HD the windows program was not installed so i thought i would have a fresh play with next weekends rides/routes using basecamp the current version is 3.1.2 using a mac operating system MAC OS X 10.6.7 it was then that i noticed a Beta version of basecamp 3.2.0 so i installed it and gave it a go. I have not tried to drop routes to Zumo yes but came across another wee problem......
How do I get it to view maps in Google earth? I have Google earth installed but when i click in basecamp view/then view in goggle earth nothing happens ?
any help ??? please
Just thought I would share the basecamp update beta version. shows that Garmin are still developing a mac basecamp at least
