that City Navigator Europe v8 is now being shipped and that it will cost me $150.00+VAT.
If I look on Garmin.com/Map Updates, the cost is $75.00.
:nenau

I was wondering the same. I'm waiting for the update discs to arrive & then I plan to pay for the unlock codes online. Until fairly recently the cost for this was always $150 plus local tax, but a few months ago this was reduced to $75+. Their site still says $75, but until I actually try to buy the unlock codes, I don't suppose I'll know. I'll still upgrade anyway, as I'm on Version 6.0.

Regards,

Charles

Reading this indeed makes me angry! :spitfire

First, the 2620 is a car navigator. The vibrations on a bike is too high for it's internal disc. It will brake down sooner or later.

Second, without MapSource CD you can't do route planning on the PC which is the only way to plan nice MC-roads.

Third, without the map DVD and the Cupon Code you can't upgrade the map which essentially destroys the second hand value of the device in 2-3 years.

I suggest that you bring a baseball bat and visit the seller for a "nice chat"!

thank you but surly it can still be updated to latest mapping software ?

I'm sure I've read on here somewhere that GPS units with pre-loaded maps can be updated. Why not send an e-mail to Nick.Williams @ garmin.com but take out the gaps first. He was brilliant and answered my questions within a day. :thumb
