Today I have fitted my new Garmin 2610. I decided to mount it using the Migsel option, onto a 1" RAM arm, which then attaches to a Garmin cradle. Fitting went well, due to reading loads on this forum beforehand.

Now is it just me or does the Garmin cradle look and feel like its going to let go of my new expensive toy at the first slight ripple of tarmac that I encounter? Or am i worrying unnecessarilly? :rob

The way I have mounted it means that to opperate the small screwdriver tool to lock the unit, I have to loosen the RAM ball joint first to move the sat nav because the screen is in the way.

Is the RAM cradle any better ??????????

What do you think ? :nenau

funny, that, ive today done exaclty the same, (sept mine is the 2720),
try to get it off with a little force, it isnt going anywhere, did you get the little screwdriver ? mine is just clear of the screen.
I also went for the Motorrad mount, which is very good.
doubt i will bother to "lock" it on the mount though.

.. it depends, early Garmin 2610 cradles had a torq type screws in the lever bar mechanism and often work loose and failed, later versions had the screws replaced with a stud and restored confidence. The RAM GA9 does not need a screwdriver, its held at the top and the underside has a cut out which is secured and by the cerrated tooth roundal on the 2610. Its down to choice.
