It has routable Tom tom and OSM
maps, too.

I’ve taken the 30 day trial (I’m away for 15 of those which wasn’t good planning)

I will test it. The free trial did not include the Tom Tom routable maps so I emailed their customer support and they immediately added them, so it bodes well so far.

The thing basecamp did so well was the ability to mix routeable with drawn tracks.
It was even better when it was integrated with Google Earth.

I will report back, but not till after return from Spain, the trip being made easier by those Templar and parador waypoints you created- thanks again for that

Waypoints and shaping points
Very simple ; no timed stops .
Just completed 3,000 miles and no faults.

Regarding the maps you currently use with Garmin/BaseCamp, TwoNav/Land does not use **.IMG** as a native map format. Land works with other vector and raster map formats, so your Garmin .IMG maps cannot be imported directly into Land for use in the same way as in BaseCamp. For this reason, you will not find .IMG among the map formats available to open or import in Land. If you want to use Land to plan your routes, you will need to use maps that are compatible with Land. Regarding the GPX file you opened, which displays the routes as straight lines, Land does not automatically recalculate a GPX route to follow roads or paths simply by opening it. To automatically calculate a route that follows the road and trail network, you can use the FastTrack tool. To use it, you need to have a routable vector map open. To help you try this feature, we have added the OSM vector map to your user account, so you can install it in Land and use it to test the FastTrack tool. Well it doesn't sound compatible with Garmin directly, which means extra steps.

OS Maps can send to Garmin devices through Garmin connect (NOTE: no altitude data is saved in the GPX file, so route works but no elevation)

AllTrails can send to Garmin devices through Garmin connect (does included elevation data)
Also with a subscription AllTrails also have OS maps for planning.

No, it just means you can’t use Garmin maps in the software.

The gpx files that are created are just gpx files and will transfer easily to a a Garmin device - though you will have to do that yourself as you’ll lose the Basecamp “transfer to device” option

I don’t believe All trails has any road routing capabilities, but I haven’t investigated closely. As this is the hiking thread I guess that’s ok.
