Hi, I have seen a website offering a Garmin Quest and Motorcycle Cradle and Wiring Kit for £219 inc delivery. I think all that would be need on top of that would be a RAM mount or similar to actually fit it on the GS. I see from another thread that there is a method of connecting straight into the CANBUS system near the headstock but that is another matter. Can anyone tell me if the £219 is a good deal please?

Probably not a bad deal, as the Garmin mount is about £50 if I remember correctly.

Some folk will tell you horror stories about the Garmin cradle against the Ram cradle, but the Garmin cradle has never let me down (even when I had travelled 5 miles with the Quest unsecured)

Could even be the RAM cradle and wiring kit that's included?

Like Al I haven't had any problems with my Garmin powered cradle but then again I remove it from the bike when it's not in use.

Bumpkin, the advert specifically states that 'a method of attaching the cradle to the bike' will have to be purchsed seperately so I guess this is where I need to look at the RAM items.

I have a kit pictured below i am willing to sell. I was given a kit from a friend who bought the Tourtech holder - the kit has Ram mount ball for handlebars, short ram mount connector and Quest holder with power in and mike jack plug. The only thing is the power cord is cut short as I had it on my Vara before so i took power lead from near handlebars but you can make a connector and lead up easily. It is all in good working order.

£75.00 plus any postage (I am in South Yorkshire but travel alot to Coventry area if thats any good).

i have the new one fitted to the bike now and have made a bracket so it is better in the line of eye sight - this is very easy to do i just bought a bracket from Maplins for a mobile phone and made a bolt from threaded bar and some shrink wrap insulation.

Riktus, thanks for your offer. I would certainly have been interested if I had not come across an offer on Amazon pointed out by another member for a TomTom Rider v2 Western Europe which comes with a cradle, bluetooth headset and bike mount etc for the total of £219. I felt this was too good too miss.

Sorry, should have explained a little more. RAM do a cradle and QPAC wiring kit for the Quest that can be used in place of the Garmin cradle. Both require further hardware to connect the cradle to the bike.
